A minimally invasive approach to breathing easier.

Endobronchial valve (EBV) therapy is a new, minimally invasive treatment option developed by Pulmonx to treat patients with emphysema.* It is intended to reduce volume in the diseased portion of the lung without the risks and complications of surgery. EBV therapy consists of placing small, one-way valves in patients’ airways to control the flow of air into and out of diseased portions of the lung.** A typical procedure involves placing 3-4 valves in the target lobe and takes approximately 20 to 40 minutes to complete.

Although the effects of emphysema aren’t reversible,
the way it’s treated should be.

The Zephyr Endobronchial Valves are designed to be easy to place and are intended to be removable so that unlike surgical alternatives, the procedure has the potential to be fully reversible. This unique feature assures clinicians that the therapy won’t automatically limit treatment options for the future. For patients, it means a valve removal procedure may be possible in the unlikely event of a significant complication. For both, the therapy represents a promising new treatment option on the continuum of care for patients with emphysema.
